Angela Abouassi, MD, MPH
Board-Certified PhysicianAngela Abouassi, MD, MPH is a board-certified physician who specializes in medical dermatology for men, women, and children of all ages. After four years of practicing and teaching dermatology at the University of Texas San Antonio/University Medical Associates, Dr. Abouassi joined the DermSurgery Associates team in El Campo, TX. She earned her master’s in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by her MD from St. George’s University. She then completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and her fellowship in Dermatology at the University of Texas San Antonio. Recognized as a 2024 Rising Star Doctor for San Antonio, she empowers patients with knowledge about their dermatological conditions and offers personalized guidance for skincare and dermatology. She has a special interest in treating various skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, hair loss in men and women, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Dr. Abouassi is committed to giving back through volunteer work, including at the Haven for Hope Dermatology clinic, and mentors pre-medical students. She is humbled by the overwhelmingly positive patient feedback she receives, reflecting the care and time she spends with each patient. Her exceptional qualities have earned her numerous accolades, including the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award and the Perfect Practice Partner award. A member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Dermatological Society, and the International Immunosuppression & Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative, Dr. Abouassi stays current with the latest advancements in her field. She regularly attends the annual meeting of the International Immunosuppression & Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative at the American Academy of Dermatology conference, ensuring she provides the most effective and innovative treatments for skin cancer in immunocompromised patients. Dr. Abouassi has also authored a book chapter on dermatological procedures, showcasing her expertise and contributions to the field. With her dedication to patient care, education, and community service, Dr. Abouassi continues to have a meaningful impact in the lives of her patients and the broader medical community.
