Carlos Gutierrez, MD, earned his medical degree in 1997 at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2011. Dr. Gutierrez says the best advice he ever received is to “be honest always.” The most interesting place he has visited is Jamaica. His guilty pleasure is candy. When he was a kid, he dreamed of being a soccer player on his Ecuadorian soccer team, Emelec. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, collecting soccer jerseys, and going to movies. Dr. Gutierrez joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic as a Family Medicine physician in July 2019.
